Bill Kirsch Abstract - Figure Figurative - Sausalito California Artist Biography

Bill Kirsch began drawing and painting at a young age and never stopped.  He became urgently interested in painting in Japan and on Okinawa while he was in the military.

His vast body of work expresses his wide variety of interests, mediums, styles and subjects.  His work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States and he has many paintings in private collections.

Bill has been working full time as an architect since 1958.  For two years in 1965 and 1966 he designed, organized and coordinated the Sausalito Art Festival with artists Al Garvey and Michael Bry.

In addition to the art festival, he designed over 400 structures that include art galleries, custom and market homes,  ranches, restaurants, floating homes, bed & breakfasts and commercial buildings that won numerous awards.  Kirsch has been published in more than 30 books, magazines and newspapers and featured in two films.

Bill recently semi retired from architecture after a long and satisfying  career.  He is returning to his love of painting with oil and drawing.  He is offering signed, limited edition archival quality giclee prints and some of his original work, while developing a new body of work.  Updates will be added as new originals are created and existing originals are photographed and made available.
